Hello All!

My apologies for slacking on my blog. I feel like I'm being pulled in a million different directions. I started my new job as the Elementary School Librarian two weeks ago. It is the best job ever!! Love it!! So my days have been full of new challenges. My kids are back in school mode & have started their extra-curricular activities so that takes up most of my evenings. Plus I'm still doing work at the church until they find my replacement. Finally yesterday, I told the church that my week was too full - I would not be able to help them out this week. I've given them two full weeks of working in the evenings & weekend. I'm going to try & find time to stay up on my blog, but I don't have access to it during the day at school. I'm off to Open House at the school tonight. Talk to you again soon!!

Back to the real world!

It's almost 10pm on Sunday night. I'm sitting here in the dark reflecting back on an awesome weekend spent in the Black Hills with my husband, four of his brothers & three of their wives. We left the kids all together at one of the uncles houses & headed out for an adults only weekend! What a great time we had! It was a quick trip - left home on Thursday night around 8pm & arrived home tonight around 7pm. Packed alot into a short amount of time.

It may take a few days for my body to get back to normal after riding behind my husband on a 4wheeler for 160 miles, but it was worth it. The scenery & peacefulness was unbelievable.

I should be washing the laundry from our weekend & getting the kids ready for bed since they start school on Thursday, but I just can't seem to get off the couch (or put the computer away). It's amazing how much there is to catch up on after being away from the computer for a few days. Doesn't help that I'm a facebook addict! Oh well!

The best news of all...I received some great news. There is a job opening at the school. I was working there & then three years ago decided to try something new and went to work as the receptionist at the church where I grew up. It's been a good place to work, but I've always missed the kids & the school. Now I have the opportunity to go back & I just can't pass it up. The bad thing is...I will need to start on Wednesday. That means putting my current employer in a tough position. I'm extremely scared of the unknown with all of this, yet oh so excited!!! Send me some good vibes over the next few days.

Stressed Out!!

School starts in one week - athletic season practices are starting - my husband & I are leaving for a quick weekend getaway without kids, but kids are also leaving town for aunt & uncles - I have way too much stuff to do & not enough time to do it. My youngest son cannot get into his bedroom - the rod fell down in his closet so all of the clothes are hanging off his bunkbeds or folded in piles on the bed, floor, chair, etc. They cannot be put away until someone (namely my husband) takes the time to put the rod back up. I'm stuck sitting here at work with pretty much nothing to do & should be home where I'm really needed. ARGH!!! We really probably should not be going out of town this weekend, but the thought of some adults only time sounds great. We have a Meet & Greet for the kids at the Middle School on Thursday night - then taking off for a two hour drive to drop the kids off at their cousins house. The adults are then driving another 5hours overnight to our destination: Deadwood, SD. There are 9 of us staying in a 4 bedroom 2 bath log house up in the Black Hills. We will be pulling our 4-wheelers out there so we can ride the trails. I'm not real excited for the 4-wheeler part (although my husband & his 4 brothers can't wait) - I'm looking forward to sitting on the deck overlooking the scenery with a good book & glass of wine. Now that sounds like a great weekend. Just wish it was coming at a different time. Well, enough rambling - better find something productive to do. I will post some pictures after the weekend of the beautiful scenery in the Black Hills of South Dakota.
If I don't make it back on here before we leave - HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!!

SISTERS DAY!!! Did you know that August 2nd was "Sisters Day"? I didn't. Thanks to Angela over at http://angeleyesadventures.blogspot.com/. Head over to her site & link up to share about your sisters.

I have one sister, Amy. She is 4 years younger than me. We don't get to see each other or spend near enough time together as we live about three hours apart & both have very busy families. Things were always great between us. As I was in high school, she was just a little middle school kid so we were in very different places. Then I went off to college & got married - she was still in high school. And of course, me being older & wiser - didn't agree with some of her choices & I sometimes over stepped my bounds & got her into trouble. Sorry for that Amy!! After she graduated from high school & came to the same college that I was at - everything changed. Even though I was married - we were now somewhat equal. We became much closer!! Now I'm just waiting & hoping for the day that we get to live closer together! Love you AMY!!!

Summer winding down...

I'm back after a full weekend to Sioux City, Iowa. This was my daughter's last tournament for the summer & what a way to end it! They played seven 40 minutes basketball games in 29 hours. I was exhausted sitting in the folding chair, I cannot imagine how those six girls felt. We stayed at the Super 8 near Morningside College. I wouldn't not recommend it. Yes, the rooms were cheap at only $45/night, but the walls & floors were paper thin - could hear every little noise. We also squeezed in an 8k Road Race for my son while we were there. So we were up & outside by the river by 7am on Saturday. Well worth it though, Jalen came in 6th place out of 104 runners - placed 2nd in his 15-19 year old division. Good workout to the upcoming Cross Country season. The highlight on my weekend was stopping through Sioux Falls to pick up my baby, Isaac (he's almost 12). He'd been at his aunt & uncles from Sunday to Sunday. Way too long for a mom to be without her baby! He's disagree I'm sure. The cousins & video games kept him plenty busy - he didn't even miss me.

As you can see, I'm having a bit of trouble with the pictures. I thought I was adding them at the end of the blog. I have no idea what I'm doing. They aren't in the correct order, but I think you get the jist!
Thanks for following!

Happy Friday to all!! My day is winding down at work & I'm ready (well not litterally) to hit the road. I still have to pack. We are headed off for our last weekend of basketball of the summer. I'll be away from the computer until Monday, but hopefully will find a creative spark over the weekend so I can improve my blossoming blog. Have a GREAT weekend! See ya next week!
